PATTERN INCLUDES INSTRUCTIONS FOR TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS, 3 SIZES IN EACH VERSION.

Both versions use easy piecing methods to make checkerboards,
Christmas trees,
and, depending on the size you are making, a sawtooth star.
Version 1 has a green first border, and a red outside border,
with green binding and squared off ends. Version 2 has one
wide green border, with red binding,
and pointed ends. It's fun to use a creamy white "snowy"
print for the background of the trees and stars. Both versions
are a beautiful addition to your holiday
table.
Why is it "Polly's" Christmas Runner?
Polly was the mother of Theresa, a good friend of mine. Polly was a
great lady, a ton of fun, and a
prolific quilter, even though she hand-quilted most of her
projects. Her expertise was actually needle-turn applique,
but she occasionally did machine piecing. She designed this
Christmas runner for her daughter Theresa, and I asked
Theresa's permission to make this into a pattern. Polly's
original design was actually Version 1, Medium, but I have
designed two more sizes of that version, and redesigned it
a bit for Version 2.
